In the last several days, there has been a new round in the battle between the National Government and the Alcalde de Bogotá. The reason for the feud between Iván Duque's and Claudia López's administrations this time is a report by the Interamerican Commission on Human Rights (CIDH) on what happened during the national election. López announced in today's Jornada that he accepts the commission's recommendations and that he accepts "the CIDH's announced follow-up mechanism and solicits their specific assistance for the implementation of the recommendations and measures in Bogotá." This position clashed with that of the national executive, who did not take the ente interamericano's report seriously.
